Longmont Foursquare Church began in 1944 with an on fire for Jesus young woman named Goldie Harper. Goldie and her husband owned and operated Harper’s Potato Flake Factory. She would make deliveries to the local stores, and these stores became her mission field She went from store to store, delivering potato chips and sharing the love of Jesus. Goldie and other Christians began gathering in a tent to hold services on the corner of 2nd avenue and Bross Street. Many families began to be drawn to this church start-up. So, I guess you can say, Jesus, Goldie, and potato chips were the catalyst for Longmont Foursquare!
